At Zuver, we believe that every life is a unique journey, and we are dedicated to ensuring that each individual’s final chapter is a celebration of the life they’ve lived.
An end-of-life plan enables you to formally record your preferences for your final days. This encompasses critical decisions such as specifying the medical care you wish to receive, outlining your preferred funeral and burial arrangements, and indicating your preferences for the distribution of your assets.
Simply be present. At times, it’s the companionship that is most valued—sit together and watch television or read. Even if there hasn’t been an expressed religious interest in the past, this may change as the end approaches. You could suggest praying together, but always honor their wishes if it’s not something they desire.
If the individual you are caring for is approaching the end of their life and it seems likely that their condition will worsen, there is a possibility that they may lose the capacity to make decisions about their care. Prior to this potential loss of capacity, it is advisable to present them with the option of advance care planning. This process allows them to document their preferences regarding the end-of-life care they wish to receive.
